On the Properties of Some Adaptive Morphological Filters for Salt and Pepper Noise Removal

Mathematical Morphology (MM) is a tool that can be applied to many digital image processing tasks include the reduction of impulsive or salt and pepper noise in grayscale images. The morphological filters used for this task are resulting from two basic operators: erosion dilation. However, when level contamination higher, these tend distort image. In work we propose pair operators with properties, better adapt than other classical filters, it demonstrated increasing idempotent filters. Furthermore, proposed turns out ∧-filter ∨-filter which allow build openings closings. Finally, they compared state-of-the-art such as: SMF, DBAIN, AMF NAFSM, have shown performance time-quality ratio above 50%.
